We are always looking for ways to utilize our deer meat. We never grill burgers as they are always a little dry out. Well, this recipe was awesome! My hubby and kids loved these burgers! And so moist and delicious. We will definitely accept these once again and once again!!
11/08/2007
This is the first year nosotros have had venison, and I must admit I was nervous most preparing it! This recipe was expert! A bit dry but that might exist because I like my burgers rare, and we decided to exist safe and cook it well. I took the extra and formed meatballs which i broiled for xxx mins on 350. They came out better than the burgers!
08/12/2007
Amazing. Didn't change a matter and these are the tastiest burgers e'er and soooooooooo juicy. My whole family loved them, even my picky kids. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
12/14/2008
This was my first time ever cooking whatsoever kind of Venison. Later on reading the reviews I thought I would give this recipe a try. I was so impressed with the taste, season, ingredience used, texture, etc. This is a winner and I volition fix this over and over again. I followed the recipe and didn't change annihilation.
01/18/2011
These burgers have great flavor. The only affair I substituted was a little onion powder for the shallots because I didn't have whatsoever on manus. It's also common cold to cook outside so I cooked these in a cast atomic number 26 skillet - 4 min per side, then finished them in a 425 degree oven for some other four minutes to make certain the centers were done. It was a great meal with sweetness potato fries and broiled beans. Thanks!
04/22/2008
This recipe was swell, a nice change from the "in the oven" venison burgers. I used ane onion instead of two shallots, and I did the salary in the microwave. The burgers still turned out very moist, and my married man liked them besides! The salary added a smashing smokey flavor, besides as the charcoal grill. I would definately do this again!
12/02/2008
Wonderful!! I cut recipe in half and still got half-dozen burgers out of information technology (well, 5 i/2). Likewise, I broiled the bun with cheddar cheese and bleu cheese crumbles until melted- great addition! Whole family unit loved these burgers. Cheers!
03/26/2011
Succulent!! I just recently discovered venison and absolutely love information technology. I had 12 oz of footing venison and so I used three slices nitrate-free salary, scarlet onion and fresh garlic instead of the shallots. I added a fleck of butter to the pan after I cooked the bacon and sweated the onion and garlic. I used one-half a browbeaten egg and some panko breadstuff crumbs too because my meat seemed a bit sticky. I also added some dried thyme based on another recipe I read on this site. The pan looked besides proficient with all the brown $.25 and bacon grease/butter and then I added a bit of olive oil and seared the burgers that way. Just have to continue a close eye on the oestrus because they cook quickly..about iv mins on each side was maximum to still get 3 juicy burgers. Added some sliced provolone on elevation..a nice mild cheese to counter the meaty flavors was perfect. Loved the smokiness of the bacon, the freshness of the parsley and the beautifully different flavour of venison. Ive seen so many recipes with reviews that state all the tricks they used to mask the flavor of the venison. If you have to mask it..you probably just don't enjoy eating information technology lol. This recipe was slap-up..thanks then much for sharing it!
12/12/2007
Delicious! The best deer-burgers my husband and I have ever had. The burgers took awhile to make, but the salary, bacon grease, and olive oil were such dandy alternatives to the fat we usually put in our venison burgers. MMMMM.
03/06/2010

This was my showtime fourth dimension cooking venison burgers, and my god was it delicious! I traded the shallots for onion powder just everything else stayed the aforementioned. If yous cook in a cast atomic number 26 skillet the burgers come out perfect. Will definitely exercise this again

Really great!!
01/22/2013
Awesome!!! My family (especially my wife) has gone from dreading me cooking with venison, to request if nosotros can harvest more than venison adjacent yr. The fashion I prepare the meat ensures in that location is absolutely NO gamey taste. I thaw the burger completely at room temp and and then allow it to soak in cold h2o for at least an hour to allow the claret to bleed from the meat. The nighttime colour leaves and it looks alot like hamburger. I have also prepared the burger with just the bacon, bacon grease, cooked onion, and garlic, and used information technology in my meatloaf recipe. Also great! We at present try to stock our freezer with vension during the season.
01/26/2011
This was fantastic, 1 of all-time burgers I've had in long time.
06/22/2007

03/26/2012
Sensational! I fried upwardly a whole pound of depression-sodium bacon, chopped it up fine, and added near of the salary grease to the burger mixture. (I had a bit more two lbs of venison, and didn't call up the extra bacon flavor would hurt!) I hand-formed them into beautifully thick burgers, and they grilled upwardly perfectly--so incredibly juicy! The only thing I actually left out was the table salt--I figured the bacon would have that area covered well enough. Outstanding recipe! Cheers for sharing!
11/twenty/2011
was very good, had to substitute small onion and minced garlic for the shallots and cooked in pan on stove since cold rainy out but was good, husband liked also. gonna attempt to make every bit meatballs, using italian seasonings also

03/22/2009
My husband is an avid hunter so we always have enough of venison twelvemonth-round. These are a nice change from the venison burgers I usually brand. The bacon adds a neat flavour and provides the needed moisture to the meat. (Venison can exist on the dry side if not prepared correctly.) I did not add cheese, but it is something I think I might endeavour next time around; just mix shredded cheddar in with the meat mixture before grilling. I also think this recipe could be converted into a meatloaf with fabulous results. I may play around with that idea likewise.
07/04/2009
My husband said this was probably the best burger he e'er had! I cut the salary upward with my kitchen shears and cooked information technology with the onion and 2 cloves of garlic. Other than that, I didn't change a thing. I'thou thankful for the 3 burgers we have left over for lunch today!

07/04/2009
This recipie makes the best burgers! My fellow (at my prompting)has made this 3 times, with the burgers being gone before the plate even hits the tabular array. A must-attempt for burger lovers! Edit: So, A yr later he and I are even so making these burgers for every picnic nosotros do, and they are however coming out delicious every time! The only affair I've changed is cooking the garlic and onion in a little of the bacon grease instead of adding olive oil to the mix.
02/27/2010
Followed the recipe exactly - no changes needed. One of the best burgers I've had of whatever type of meat. I've grilled them on a charcoal grill and stove tiptop in a grill pan. The charcoal were ameliorate but both were fantastic.

08/12/2010
This was my first ever endeavour at venison and I was very happy with the event. Out of necessity, I made some adjustments to the recipe. I had to add nigh a pound of footing beef (eighty/20) to the pound of venison I was given. I soaked the venison in milk for several hours, just wanting to make sure these wouldn't exist as well gamey and touch. Instead they were moist and succulent.

09/x/2012
Just made this recipe and LOVED information technology - BEST burgers ever. I used about 3lbs of venison so cooked an unabridged pound of salary and used well-nigh 9 - 10 slices and increased all ingredients - especially the garlic. We've cooked venison burgers before and they e'er fall autonomously on the grill so nosotros decided to endeavor cooking them on a cookie sheet (on the grill) until virtually done then moved them to the open up flame. We did experiment with ane burgers and information technology savage apart so I'one thousand glad we opted for the cookie sail. Does anyone take an respond for the falling apart issue?
